Physiology Theory: The program extends further from the standard workplace Provide first aid and Remote first aid to impart confidence, theoretical knowledge skills and treatment practices, through online lectures in anatomy and physiology, and discussion of the causes and signs and symptoms of injuries and illness. This empowers students with confidence to treat situations that aren’t ‘in the book’, while still working within their defined scope of practice. First aid response: You will learn treatment principles for specific conditions. Through a series of videos, our professional instructors will demonstrate how specific first aid treatments are administered, and how to treat within the framework of a primary and secondary survey. Extended care and emergency response: First aid is not ‘static’. The WFAC online course examines the dynamic nature of extended patient treatment. Students will document changes in patient conditions and use their learnt knowledge in physiology to adapt their treatments to the changing presentations of patients. Online knowledge quizzes after each topic will cement your skills, knowledge and understanding of the content before attempting the final assessments. Once you have completed the lessons you will be able to book a time to complete your final assessments. Assessment will consist of a series of scenarios in which you will demonstrate your ability to: Assess a patient Provide treatment for specific injuries Safely respond to and manage a first aid scene Document first aid information Make considerations for long term patient care These will be assessed via online video with your assigned assessor.
