This Wilderness Advanced First Aid program covers essential knowledge and techniques needed for effective patient care in remote settings. Through engaging online modules, you’ll gain the confidence to respond to emergencies, whether you’re on a hiking expedition or working in an isolated environment.
Our Remote First Aid Training includes comprehensive lessons that address common injuries and illnesses encountered in the wilderness. Participants will also learn how to become a Wilderness First Responder, equipping them with the ability to manage patient care until help arrives. Upon completion, you will receive a Wilderness First Aid Certification, recognising your advanced skills in remote first aid.
The WFA course price is usually $850 but we are having an opening special, the WFA course will be $750, plus a free first aid kit for the first 30 students!

- LessonsThe lessons are designed to accommodate varying learning styles and include: Topic readings Case studies Online video lectures Instructor demonstration videos What will I learn? Physiology Theory: The program extends further from the standard workplace Provide first aid and Remote first aid to impart confidence, theoretical knowledge skills and treatment practices, through online lectures in anatomy and physiology, and discussion of the causes and signs and symptoms of injuries and illness. This empowers students with confidence to treat situations that aren’t ‘in the book’, while still working within their defined scope of practice. First aid response: You will learn treatment principles for specific conditions. Through a series of videos, our professional instructors will demonstrate how specific first aid treatments are administered, and how to treat within the framework of a primary and secondary survey. Extended care and emergency response: First aid is not ‘static’. The WFAC online course examines the dynamic nature of extended patient treatment. Students will document changes in patient conditions and use their learnt knowledge in physiology to adapt their treatments to the changing presentations of patients. Online knowledge quizzes after each topic will cement your skills, knowledge and understanding of the content before attempting the final assessments. Once you have completed the lessons you will be able to book a time to complete your final assessments. Assessment will consist of a series of scenarios in which you will demonstrate your ability to: Assess a patient Provide treatment for specific injuries Safely respond to and manage a first aid scene Document first aid information Make considerations for long term patient care These will be assessed via online video with your assigned assessor.0
